 Dr. Daniel W Carter founded West Florida Veterinary Associates in Pensacola Florida in 1998.  Following his grandfather and father as the third generation in the thoroughbred community  from  Louisville Ky, he received a BS from Western KY University in 1982 and DVM from Auburn University in 1987. He gained clinical experience practicing in Lexington, KY and returned to Auburn University to complete a Large Animal Internal Medicine residency in 1996. He is innovator of botulinum toxin therapies for horses,  co-founder of VetMed Therapuetics Inc and is developing  new minimally invasive medical therapies for lameness, neuromuscular diseases, chronic pain and laminitis.
